Why stay at Hôtel de Dieppe (Rouen)?
The hotel is particularly well located in the city of Rouen. From the station, we were close to most tourist activities. We were able to walk to the various museums. We were less than a 20-minute walk away:
- of the Musée des Beaux-Arts,
- of Rouen Cathedral,
- Joan of Arc Museum,
- from the Musée de la ferronnerie in Rouen.
What’s more, we really appreciated the revisited Art-deco ambience. Old meets new to create a warm and friendly atmosphere. We found that the establishment was decorated with care, with small touches of originality in the choice of colors and patterns.
The hotel also boasts a bar and restaurant. The “1880 Bar” welcomes you for a cocktail, comfortably seated in a vintage-style armchair. Café-Brasserie Victor serves Norman cuisine in a friendly setting.

Yes, we were delighted with our experience there! We had a great time there. The warm atmosphere and vintage spirit immediately put us at ease. The hotel’s decor is really interesting. It subtly blends modern elements with Art Deco touches, creating a unique ambience.

This is one of our favorite hotels in Rouen.
Decoration and atmosphere
The hotel, the “1880 Bar” and Café-Brasserie Victor all feature the same modernized Art-deco aesthetic. Even so, we could easily differentiate between the individual spaces, as they had their own particularities. Floor ornaments, in particular, marked the boundaries of each area.
We found our room particularly comfortable. The choice of colors and patterns soothed us. Every detail was carefully considered, from the furniture to the fixtures, creating an interesting visual harmony.
The general atmosphere in the hotel was one of conviviality. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were delighted by this experience, where aesthetic beauty and a warm atmosphere combined to make our stay a pleasant one.

The room
We really liked the hotel room. The meticulous decor provides a charming, welcoming atmosphere. The patterns on the floors and walls add a touch of originality. We found the choice of colors very interesting. The bright yellow blends perfectly with the geometric shapes on the walls.
We felt instantly at home in this Art Deco-style room. We were particularly intrigued by the luminaire. When night falls, it creates a beautiful play of light on the walls. It’s a decor element we’d love to bring into our home!
To complete the Art Deco touch, we loved this phone with its vintage look. The black and bronze colors give it a certain elegance. Like us, can you imagine yourself making an important phone call with this phone?

The bathroom
We found the bathroom quite small but functional. The shower was very pleasant, with a good flow of water. Inside, there was also a body and hair cleanser. We were provided with towels and a small care kit.
We’ve taken the bedroom aesthetic into the bathroom. Once again, we liked the play of patterns, textures and colors on the walls.

THE SAME MISTAKE WE MADE
On one of our last trips to Europe, a hacker stole our credit card details while we were using a hotel WiFi.

The restoration
The hotel features a bar and restaurant. The 1880 Bar offers 30 cocktails and 50 premium spirits. The Art Deco spirit created a warm atmosphere. We were seduced by the mix of wood and the red and gold tones of the bar. We felt at home in this elegant setting with its vintage yet modern look. We were almost transported to another era!
Café-Brasserie Victor offers a menu of local flavours. You can enjoy home-cooked Norman dishes in a pleasant setting. The restaurant is particularly famous for its Rouen-style duck. A little history
The establishment is a veritable institution in the city of Rouen. The Guéret family has run the hotel since 1880. Today, the 5th generation is at the helm. The hotel has survived the decades thanks to the creative and modern spirit of the family members. The hotel, bar and restaurant have been renewed to match the trends of each era.
Between 2012 and 2013, the establishment was hit by the Rue Verte debacle, which led to the subsidence of surrounding buildings. However, the hotel held out with difficulty. In 2018, it was redone. Today, its reputation is firmly established.
