Where to sleep in Honfleur: best hotels and neighborhoods
Why spend at least one night in Honfleur?
Honfleur is, in our opinion, one of the most beautiful cities in France. We have been going there since we were children and we never get tired of it!
Its historic heart is absolutely charming with the old port, the half-timbered houses and the wooden church. Every time we go there, we are spellbound.
And it is even more the case when we sleep there because we enjoy the wonderful sunsets and sunrises.
When we are sitting relaxed by the pool and the colorful clouds are reflected on the water of the harbor, we feel as if we have entered a living impressionist painting.
You will understand why the place inspires so many artists!
And for the little extra, most of the hotels in Honfleur are located in old houses that have kept all their charm. What better way to get a change of scenery?

Here are their advantages and disadvantages:
In the historical center
– Benefits:
You park your car, and do everything on foot.
You will surely sleep in a historical building.
You are close to all places of interest and restaurants.

The hotels do not have parking facilities, and the city’s parking lots are not free.
You will probably have to walk a bit with your suitcase to reach your hotel.

The streets that rise above the old center
– Benefits:
Far from the noise of the city.
Perhaps a parking lot associated

Honfleur is a very touristic place, think of booking early to have the choice and the best prices: see the hotels with the best ratings by customers
Other tips to keep in mind
- Driving through the narrow streets of the old town can be stressful for some
- Parking is quite expensive, add this charge to your budget if your hotel does not have a parking lot. The free parking is further away on the side of the Naturospace
- The traffic in Honfleur can be annoying (bottleneck at the bridge) – depending on your schedule, park on one side or the other of the bridge.
OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING A CAR IN Normandy
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- Choose a car that is comfortable enough (distances can be long) but compact (some parking lots and villages are narrow).
- Think of thecomplete insurance (some roads are tortuous and narrow).
- There is a lot of demand, book it early.
1. The hotel La Maison de Lucie (boutique)
Why stay at La Maison de Lucie?
If you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet, yet still close to the port, the hotel La Maison de Lucie is an excellent option.
This elegant 18th century mansion offers you access to a charming cobbled courtyard and very elegant interiors. A small cocoon that invites you to relax.
Lucie Delarue-Mardrus was born here in 1874. She was a poet, a novelist, a journalist, a draughtswoman…
The interior is decorated with great taste (in our opinion) with a feeling of space, peace and cocoon. Historical, retro and modern at the same time. It is very successful!

It is composed of 2 buildings. Some of the rooms are in a presbytery that dates from the 16th century. The others have a less historical interior but a view on the fishing port.
