Where to stay in Caen: best areas
Is spending the night in Caen worth it?
We’re divided. On the one hand, Caen is very central for visiting Normandy, with many interesting restaurants and museums. On the other hand, we feel that Caen’s hotel offer lacks charm.
If you’re looking for a fairly large city, easily accessible by train and centrally located, choose Caen.
Alternatively, we recommend Bayeux, just a 30-minute drive away, with its excellent hotels and charming town (see our article on hotels in Bayeux).
