A view of the sea, an exceptional building, a refined décor, a traditional thatched-roof house… Normandy’s hotel offer is not lacking in cachet.
Here is our list of the most beautiful and best hotels in Normandy in several categories: city, country, seaside, boutique-hotel or luxury hotel… Everyone should find their pearl!
This opinion is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the area anonymously, making our own choices, and paying all our bills in full.

The best hotels in Normandy: our selection
It’s not easy to choose the best hotels in Normandy. It really depends on your criteria. We chose those that surprised, charmed and relaxed us: castles, typical Normandy homes, original concepts…. These are our personal choices.
This article focuses on hotel selection. If you’re wondering where to stay in Normandy, check out this other article.
1. Cocooning: Hôtel Domaine Saint Clair (Etretat)

Why stay at the Donjon Domaine Saint Clair hotel?
If you’re looking for charm and originality, look no further.
This is one of the most inspiring hotels we have stayed in.
The 3 buildings have been decorated with care. Between the stylish curtains, the textured wallpapers and the work on light, it is a fascinating discovery in every corner of the hotel.
Our room overlooked the pool and the trees. A real moment of relaxation.
It is a cocoon of relaxation between the trees, with a veranda filled with comfortable armchairs and a snack with homemade cake…
What more could you ask for? Not going out to eat? Of course, because you have the choice of 2 restaurants on site, one of which is starred.

A personal note: our father was very excited to see our photos of what the Donjon has become. Because when he was a child, the place was abandoned and he would explore it with his friends, letting their imaginations create all kinds of stories.

2. Boutique and unique: Hôtel La Maison de Lucie (Honfleur)

Why stay at La Maison de Lucie?
If you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet, but still close enough to the port, the hotel La Maison de Lucie is an excellent option.
This elegant 18th-century residence offers access to a charming cobbled courtyard and stylish interiors. A small cocoon that invites you to relax.
Lucie Delarue-Mardrus, poet, novelist, journalist and illustrator, was born here in 1874…
The interior is extremely tastefully decorated (in our opinion), with a feeling of space, peace and cocoon. Historical, retro and modern at the same time. It’s a great success!

A terrace with wrought-iron furniture, a pleasant green garden, tastefully decorated rooms in a traditional style, all in a quiet location just a stone’s throw from all of Bayeux’s tourist attractions.
