Shopping in Le Havre: what you need to know
Whether you’re visiting this cruise port for a day, or choosing to spend a holiday in Le Havre, you should know that it’s a provincial town:
- Almost all stores are closed on Sundays. Some food stores are open on Sunday mornings
- And many stores remain closed on Mondays too.

OUR ADVICE FOR RENTING A CAR IN Normandy
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- Choose a car that is comfortable enough (distances can be long) but compact (some parking lots and villages are narrow).
- Think of thecomplete insurance (some roads are tortuous and narrow).
- There is a lot of demand, book it early.
Where to shop in Le Havre?
It depends on what you’re looking for: a shopping mall with the same inexpensive stores as in other countries, or original boutiques?
For original boutiques: Downtown
We highly recommend a stroll through the streets around the volcano (the large white building in the shape of a volcano). You will find:
- decoration boutiques with unique perspectives
- clothing boutiques in a variety of styles
- jewelry boutiques
- ….
And you can appreciate the architecture of Perret’s reconstruction all around you.
It’s right next to the bus stop for the cruise ships.
Shopping centers
There are also two shopping centers within easy reach of the city center (the others are outside and require a car):
- Coty
Shopping center open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m..
Around 80 boutiques with decor, jewelry, accessories and, above all, clothes.
For something a little out of the ordinary, we recommend the Lab’O boutique upstairs. In this boutique, young people who are being coached to become entrepreneurs showcase their products.
Brands included: Zara, Monoprix, Armand Thierry, Fnac, Jules, Histoire d’or, Naf Naf…
Address: 22 Rue Casimir Périer, 76600 Le Havre
10-minute walk from the cruise ship bus stop.
- Les Docks
The mall is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 8pm, and on Sundays and public holidays from 11am to 7pm.
The place is interesting for its architecture: the old port docks have been rehabilitated in an industrial style.
You’ll find popular brands available in other countries.
Brands included: Primark, H&M, Legon NewYorker, Rimberland, Zara…
Address: 70 quai Frissard, 76600 Le Havre
30-minute walk from the cruise ship bus stop.

- delicatessen
- butchers
- cold meats
