Is the Hotel Vent d’Ouest worth it? Our review
For us, Hôtel Vent d’Ouest is well worth the detour. This is one of our favorite spa hotels in Le Havre! Its warm ambience, original decor, spa and location make it one of the city’s finest hotels. It’s a boutique hotel, and we love this type of accommodation where the service is always personalized, the staff attentive and the setting intimate.
The hotel is also within easy reach of several major tourist attractions, includingSaint-Joseph Church and the MuMa (André Malraux Museum of Modern Art). This makes it an ideal base for exploring the city’s points of interest. We highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in Le Havre.
Decoration and atmosphere
The Hôtel Spa Vent d’Ouest is distinguished by its English-style charm and tasteful interior design. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Indeed, we felt “right at home”. You’ll surely notice that the cosy setting invites you to relax and generates a most pleasant atmosphere.
Each space has been decorated with care and impeccable attention to detail, helping to create a harmonious, soothing ambience. Bright colors and wood make way for common spaces. Note the many canvases on the walls, echoing Le Havre’s nickname of “ocean city”. In the heart of this major port city, the “Porte Océane” building was designed by architect Auguste Perret as a real passageway between the city and the sea. In addition to the paintings, a number of decorative objects and sailboat models will immerse you in a seafaring universe.
The hotel staff were attentive during our stay. We appreciated their availability, which added an extra touch to the experience we were offered by the hotel.

The room
Our room was decorated in an old-fashioned “English club” style, with a cosy atmosphere that made us feel very comfortable. We particularly liked the trompe-l’œil library-effect wallpaper at the head of the bed, which was a real eye-catcher in the room! The antique wooden furniture and vintage dial telephone brought a touch of authenticity to our room.
The room was well equipped, with a TV, kettle, bottle of still water, coffee and tea bags, sugar and glass cups in the room. The vintage feel of the room, accentuated by the brown and beige tones of the ensemble and the striped bed linen and curtains, really appealed to us.
Comfortable armchairs allowed us to enjoy the view of the alley from our room. A beautiful art book was available for on-site consultation alongside an antique rotary telephone, adding character to the room.

The bathroom
We appreciated the functional bathroom with shower and toilet, which avoided wasting space. This decorative approach extends to the bathroom. Beige tones, wooden furniture and a seascape painting adorned the room.
Hygiene products from the Nuxe cosmetics brand, a bathrobe, slippers, a hairdryer and toiletries were provided prior to our arrival.
The breakfast
Our breakfast at the Hôtel Vent d’Ouest in Le Havre was simply exquisite! The buffet served on the hotel’s first floor features a variety of local products, including different types of bread (rye, cereal, white) and an assortment of dried fruit.
We also had the choice of animal or vegetable milk. The choice of local produce offered at breakfast is very fine, and we really felt the hotel owners’ desire to share their love of the local terroir with us. In fact, the establishment favors local suppliers and artisans. We enjoyed the diversity of products on offer, including Castillon ewe’s milk cheese, homemade jams, artisanal Normandy cheeses from Ferme Dumesnil and a variety of charcuterie.
Several platters of tasty, juicy fruit are also available for a touch of freshness. In the form of a fruit salad or individually tasted, the choice is yours! Finally, the delicious smell of breakfast in the hotel corridors when we woke up was really pleasant.
