Ch\u00e2teau de Creully and Gold Beach<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you will see<\/h3>\n\n<p>An ancient medieval fortified castle, Ch\u00e2teau de Creully is just a 15-minute drive from downtown Bayeux.\nDuring our visit, we entered its wooded, flower-filled grounds to admire the Ch\u00e2teau from the outside.\nGuided tours are organized in this mythical feudal site, where we were lucky enough to visit some of the rooms.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Normandie\/R21a-Creully\/i-XcCtmXr\/4\/054ad277\/L\/Creully_Normandie-6033-L.jpg\" alt=\"Creully Castle in Normandy\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>This beautiful building also played a role in the success of D-Day and the Liberation.\nIndeed, in June 1944, the BBC broadcast from the Ch\u00e2teau de Creully&#8217;s square tower, broadcasting news of the Battle of Normandy during the Second World War.\nIn short, a visit is a must if you love history, castles and large parks!  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/photos\/i-T8PZc8s\/1\/789d8e5c\/L\/i-T8PZc8s-L.jpg\" alt=\"Gold Beach at Arromanches-les-Bains in Normandy\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Gold Beach at Arromanches-les-Bains in Normandy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>A 15-minute drive from the ch\u00e2teau takes you to Gold Beach at Arromanches-les-Bains on the Normandy coast.\nIt&#8217;s a pretty impressive and interesting place to visit. <br\/>The remains of the artificial harbour (Mulberries) used during the D-Day landings appear on the beach at low tide, and you can approach them.\nWe were also overwhelmed by the view from the cliffs, which made us feel very small in the face of such immensity.\nThere are also several remains of equipment at the entrance to the beach near the museum.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How long does the outing last?<\/h3>\n\n<p>Allow a good half-day to visit these 2 sites, which are fairly close to one another.\nYou&#8217;ll need just an hour to visit the interior of Ch\u00e2teau de Creully, but you&#8217;ll need more time to enjoy the surrounding wooded and flower-filled park! <\/p>\n\n<p>The Arromanches part of Gold Beach is one of the most interesting, with many D-Day relics left untouched on the beach for you to see with your own eyes.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/photos\/i-9p2bvhf\/1\/ea685634\/L\/i-9p2bvhf-L.jpg\" alt=\"Arromanches-les-Bains in Normandy\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why did we choose it?<\/h3>\n\n<p>Ch\u00e2teau de Creully and Gold Beach are relatively close by.\nThey&#8217;re also eye-catchers.\nWhether it&#8217;s in this feudal castle surrounded by magnificent parkland, or on this beach where remnants of equipment and pieces of the artificial harbour appear, you&#8217;ll have plenty to keep you busy!  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is the tour family-friendly?<\/h3>\n\n<p>Yes, completely.\nYour little ones will be able to frolic happily through the ch\u00e2teau&#8217;s wooded park and feel closer to nature.\nIn Arromanches-les-Bains, your
