In this article, we share with you our opinions <\/strong>on what we consider to be the best restaurants<\/strong> in and around \u00c9tretat.<\/p>\n\n

Located in a valley, the restaurant offer is necessarily limited<\/strong>. But, there are several good addresses<\/strong>, with exceptional views<\/strong> of the mythical cliffs and a cuisine to match the landscape. <\/p>\n\n

You can taste a cuisine directly inspired by the sea<\/strong> and you can regularly enjoy it with good Norman cheeses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

The starred restaurant in \u00c9tretat<\/h2>\n\n

1. Le restaurant du donjon – Domaine Saint-Clair (1 star)<\/h3>\n\n

Nestled on the heights of \u00c9tretat (upstream cliff), this manor<\/strong> was built in 1862<\/strong> in a rather surprising and offbeat medieval style by the Parisian journalist Zacharie Dollingen. It reflects the taste for theater and human comedy<\/strong> so common in France’s burgeoning seaside resorts in the second half of the 19th <\/sup>century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anxious to preserve this originality<\/strong>, the owners of the place since 1978, the Abodib family, have entrusted the decoration of the hotel’s gastronomic restaurant to the stylist Jean Charles De Castelbajac<\/strong>, one of the great names of French fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The menu<\/strong> has just as much character, with the radical choice of a menu that focuses solely on seafood. Chef Gabin Bouguet<\/strong>, a native of the Pays de Caux, gets his supplies every day from the fish market in the nearby port of F\u00e9camp and combines scallops, whelks and sea urchins with the good vegetables of our countryside. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabin Bouguet, a genuine enthusiast, was awarded the prize of“great of tomorrow<\/strong>” for the Normandy region in 2022. To be continued… and closely followed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
