you go only to enjoy the view<\/li><li>Or plan a few hours if you want to explore the area and walk around a bit on the trails<\/li><li>The access is free<\/li><li>The parking lot is well marked &#8211; it is less than a 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the viewpoint<\/li><li>Toilets near the parking lot<\/li><li>A great place to watch the sunset<\/li><li>It is a very touristic place (second most visited of the department after the Mont Saint-Michel)<\/li><li>The caves are only accessible through a guided tour, see further in the article.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nez de Jobourg &#8211; Restaurant<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a restaurant at the viewpoint, the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aubergedesgrottes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Auberge des Grottes<\/a>.<br\/>You can have a drink or enjoy pancakes on the terrace with a great view.<br\/>The restaurant has its own parking The cliffs are made of gneiss.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Normandie\/R8f-Nez-de-Jobourg\/i-9rL35rB\/3\/cca1f536\/L\/Nez_de_Jobourg_Normandie-0001-L.jpg\" alt=\" Nez de Jobourg cliffs - nature\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cliffs of the Nez de Jobourg are home to a wide variety of birds:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>crested cormorants,<\/li><li>herring gulls,<\/li><li>the larks,<\/li><li>meadow pipits,<\/li><li>spotted warblers<\/li><li>&#8230;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a protected area, Natura 2000.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Normandie\/R8f-Nez-de-Jobourg\/i-XTgT93H\/3\/2d56c8d3\/L\/Nez_de_Jobourg_Normandie-9985-L.jpg\" alt=\"Cliffs of the Nez de Jobourg 2&#10;\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several archaeological sites have been identified on these cliffs. Flint tools from the Mesolithic era have been found.<br\/>There was a semaphore, but it was destroyed during the Second World War.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">View to the north &#8211; La Hague<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the viewpoint, you can also look in the opposite direction, towards the North.<br\/>On a clear day, you can see the lighthouse of Goury, also called the lighthouse of La Hague.<br\/>It is 48m high and located on a small rock called &#8220;Gros de Raz&#8221;.<br\/>This lighthouse is essential, because there is a very strong current between the cape and the island of Alderney, only 15 km away. This current is called &#8220;Raz Blanchard&#8221;. The path includes slopes.<br\/>Allow 15min to 30min one way.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you arrive by car, or if you feel like walking more, I recommend you head to the cliffs at the north end.
